Confirmation

In Confirmation, Christians receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit and deepening of baptismal graces needed to grow as mature disciples of Christ in the life of the Church. Confirmation is typically the last of the Sacraments of Initiation. A person's Confirmation is a confirmation of faith in Christ Jesus. At this moment, Catholics are accepted into the church of Christ as a fully initiated member.

 Typically, the sacrament of Confirmation is received during high school. Teens need to be properly formed through the parish's faith formation program and Sacrament Prep Program prior to receiving the sacrament.

 Just as Baptism gives new life, Eucharist nourishes life, and Reconciliation restores life when it is broken, Confirmation strengthens that life by the gifts of the Holy Spirit (cf. CCC 1285). It is about strengthening what God has given, and continues to give, to his sons and daughters (cf. CCC 1302-1303).

 Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world.  . . .  We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
